Paul Gordon Hughes, Partner
Paul has practiced law in southeastern Pennsylvania for over 30 years. He has successfully tried and settled cases all over Pennsylvania, including the state and federal trial courts; the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Office of Adjudication; the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board; the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review; and the American Arbitration Association. In addition, he has argued on behalf of his clients in all three of Pennsylvania’s appeals courts.
His extensive and varied experience has included the litigation of serious motor vehicle crashes and unsafe premises claims; medical malpractice claims, including those arising from surgical errors, failures to diagnose cancer, and emergency room malpractice; workplace violence resulting in death and long term disability; workplace injury caused by independent contractors; workers’ compensation claims; and civil rights claims in the federal and state courts. He has developed special expertise in litigation alleging Common Law Marriage, which although abolished by Pennsylvania in 2005, still often impacts Pennsylvania inheritance rights; and in proving the existence of disability and legal capacity.
Paul believes that the experienced support staff, state of the art technology resources, and skilled lawyering that Pierce & Hughes provides to every one of its clients is not only what those clients want, it’s what they deserve.
